Dave Beaver

Director

Dave started on a Volkswagen Dealership apprenticeship at Stoke VW straight from school in 1998. He then spent over 10 years within the VW Group network, leaving a senior technician role at VW and setting up BVR Automotive in 2009.

Dave now splits his time between training staff to pass on his knowledge, working in the workshop, covering staff holidays and managing the behind the scenes running of the garage.

If he’s not at work he’ll probably be out on his mountain bike or one of his motorbikes.

Liam McHugh

Manager

Liam started his career here at BVR as an apprentice vehicle technician in 2013. He left BVR in 2017 and spent nearly three years at a local VW dealership before realising how amazing it is here at BVR and returning in early 2020.

Since his return he has completed various IMI qualifications including level 4 electric & hybrid vehicles and gradually moved more towards the day to day management. At the start of 2025 Liam moved into our front of house full time and now manages the day to day operations at BVR.

Outside of work you will find Liam helping out at Abbey Hulton UTD or spending time with his family.

John Marsh

Senior Vehicle Technician

John started at BVR in 2021 after 7 years in the motorcycle industry as a technician. He worked for brands such as Yamaha, Kawasaki, Mv Agusta and KTM achieving Orange technician level at KTM.

Since being at BVR he has excelled in his role taking full advantage of the in house knowledge of other staff had and also completed a whole range of IMI training. He now spends his time doing diagnostic and major repair work. He is currently (early 2026) in the first year of his 3.5 year IMI recognised Master Technician training programme which he is due to complete in mid 2029!

When John is not at work you will likely find him out on his motorbike or gaming when it’s raining.

Steve Chick

Service Advisor

Steve joined BVR in January 2026 after changing careers within the motor industry. He’ll be getting up to speed during the first half of 2026 with a combination of in house and external training.

His hobbies include going to the gym and motorbikes.

Emma Beaver

Director

Emma helps out mainly behind the scenes at BVR but you might see her on site occasionally adding that woman’s touch to the place that’s always missed by everyone else.

Subcontractor

An ex Audi Master Technician and now works at the local Ducati dealership Tuesday-Saturday so sometimes works Mondays for us to fund his expensive motorbike track day hobby.

An old work colleague of Dave’s from his dealer days who subcontracts to us when needed.

An ex VW dealer technician who’s now retired but covers holidays and busy periods at BVR when he’s not away snowboarding with his son Will (who’s a Para snowboarding competitor).
